If you have never witnesses a Do-Dah Parade, then it is hard to imagine how a group of adults can create such a unique float, decorated car, things that go down a street, and wagons filled with small little faces. And, yet that is indeed Do-Dah. Do-Dah is a tradition that allows humor to guide the way things are done. We need a little laughter and when businesses come together to celebrate who they are and what they do with a little laughter in between, we know we are at the heart of a great community. Do-Dah is a parade that celebrates "us" and "who we are - as we are." What could be better?
The Do-Dah Parade was formed in 1984 with a pledge and a promise to host a parade that would feature a satire that would make people stop and laugh at the creative way we can celebrate life. Today, Do-Dah is a tradition where families come to learn about their community. At the parade, attendees will see a wide array of businesses and organizations that are doing amazing things in our community.
Do-Dah is part of a weekend of events, called JumpsART weekend, that includes the KIA Art Fair, Art on the Mall, Pride Festival, and many other events. This hour-long parade celebrates unique themes, people dressed in costumes, and almost everything in between. This is a parade where employees connect what they do at work to how they love the communities where they live. As a satire parade, Do-Dah is a celebration of businesses, organizations, and community groups coming together to cherish what makes us laugh - a satire of the mundane.
And, for those businesses that rather not "tiptoe" on a satire, they can decorate under a theme. This year's theme is “Once Upon a Time.”
Our Theme This Year is:
once upon a Time: 41 years!

About the Parade:
Do‐Dah Parade has been a tradition for 41 years. It started in 1984, when WKMI organizers designed the parade as a way for companies and organizations to provide unique entertainment through a satire and host a parade that wasn’t “stuffy.” The purpose remains the same – create the un‐structured, spontaneous, and totally hilarious parade. Each year, participants are challenged to reinvigorate the meaning of “Do‐Dah” (a satire based on an ironic and iconic use of a person, place, event or thing).
